Dealers Help -
Understanding Views Counter
Each ad will display a number
of views in the dealers management console. Each time someone
visits the page with that vehicle it will count that visit.
The counter is just a counter,
it will not discriminate between one person looking at the page
several times and another person that views it one time. Each
page view is counted as 1.
The count will increase
regardless of where the page is viewed or who is viewing it.
Counts include all pages viewed via the syndicated web feeds and
all AAN Network sites.
The counters do not count the
cars when they are displayed in search results or on browse pages
or featured thumbnails on other content pages. The count only
represents the numbers generated by people actually viewing the
full details page for that vehicle.
Dealers
hosting websites with pagebuzz.com
or websites using the perl API rather than the standard
javascript web feed will not have pages viewed on their websites
included in the count. This seperates network traffic counts from
the dealers actual website counts.
Most websites have their own
website stats and will show you more detailed information about
the pages being viewed on your own website. Webmasters can parse
the querry from the web feed pages and get detailed information
about website visitors even though the web feed runs from one
page.
Resetting the counter
- Counters are reset when an ad is expired or moved to the sold
section. No counts are maintained for the sold cars and can only
be viewed by the dealers or from a dealers web feed. If the ad is
reactivated or moved back to the cars for sale gallery, the
counter will start back at 0.
