Old Bridge Township Raceway Park takes great pleasure in announcing the 2005 season opening dates for all three racing venues at the 320 acre central New Jersey multi purpose race plant.
The 2005 Raceway Park season officially starts when the drag racing season fires up on Saturday & Sunday, February 26 & 27. Billed as a "winter warm up", the weekend will feature both muffled and unmuffled racing. On Saturday, February 26, the "winter warm up" will offer a domestic and import test and tune session starting at 9 a.m. for muffled vehicles. Then on Sunday, February 27, both muffled and unmuffled racers can participate in the second race day of the "winter warm up" for a test and tune session offering racers three runs for just $30. Start up time for muffled vehicles is 9 a.m. and for unmuffled vehicles at 10 a.m. Once the opener weekend is over, racers can look forward to racing every weekend thereafter, plus the start of unmuffled and muffled time trials on Wednesday nights on March 2 and muffled Friday night street night events, which get underway on March 4.
The 2005 motocross championship season, which boasts 15 events in '05 gets under way on Sunday, March 13 when Yamaha presents the 30th Annual Championship Season Opener on the famed Raceway Park dirt track. Scheduled for that event will be a full card of normal semi pro races with all two wheeled classes scheduled to be run. Gates open at 7 a.m., practice is from 9 a.m. - 10: 30 a.m., racing begins at 11 a.m.
The karting track will start its 4th season on Sunday, March 13 with our Winter Warm-Up. Road course practice will be the featured on the half mile, 10 turn asphalt course. On Sunday, March 13 gates will open at 8 a.m., practice starts at 9:00 a.m. continuing until dark. The first road course race will happen on Sunday, March 20.
