Raceway Park's 2005 Sport Compact Season fires up on Saturday, March 5 and it's going to be hotter than ever!
Raceway Park's 2005 Sport Compact drag racing and show season officially kicks off on Saturday, March 5th with the 1st edition of the BF Goodrich Tires Street Wars Series. This is a great event matching up US Muscle Cars against Hi Tech Imports, on a bracket racing format. All competing cars must be "street type cars" fully muffled and run on DOT Radial Tires for cash and prizes. Fans of Street Wars will also want to be here on August 20th & November 13th for more US Muscle vs. Hi-Tech Import battles. Following this great event will be the start of our wildly popular; four race Toyo Tires Import Survival Series. Survival Series #1 is scheduled for Sunday March 20 and will feature the fierce competition of the Survival Series brackets, as well as the Heads Up classes and our exciting Pro Import Shootout. One notable change for '05 is the addition of 4cyl RWD NA Cars to the Class C and 4cyl RWD Turbo/NOS to Class D. This change will ensure that cars, like the S2000 and 240SX, have an exciting class to race in during 2005 and guarantees to make the racing more exciting for both racers and fans alike. Import enthusiasts will also want to circle April 10th, June 5th, and October 23rd on their calendars for the remaining 3 Toyo Tires Import Survival Series events. The first of Raceway Park's NHRA Sport Compact National events begins the weekend of April 30 and May 1st with the 8th Annual NHRA Nitto Tires Sport Compact Springnationals. This event is recognized as one of the largest Import and Sport Compact events in the nation, and it is often where racers debut their new rides for 2005. The Championship chase continues at the Record Setting 7th Annual NHRA Sport Compact Fall Nationals on October 1 & 2. This event is internationally known as the event where the Nation's fastest Pro Racers choose to "raise the bar" and re- set their records in the ideal cool fall air. Last but not least is the Grand Slam of all Sport Compact events at Raceway Park and the entire Northeast region: The 9th Annual Summer Sport Compact Slam on July 2 & 3. This event combines our largest Import and Lowrider Car Show, Hydraulic Hop Competition, USAC Sound Challenge, Extreme BMX Exhibition with the hottest drag racing action of the summer featuring the fastest cars fro the US and Puerto Rico.
