Old Bridge Township Raceway Park recently announced that Dodge, the leading manufacturer of cars and trucks, will return in 2005 as the official vehicle of Raceway Park. The New York Dodge Dealers Advertising Association unanimously approved their backing of Raceway Park as the official vehicle supplier. Entering its seventh year, the announcement renews an existing agreement that names Dodge as the official Raceway Park vehicle for the 2005 season. Race fans will see an entire new fleet of Dodge vehicles on the park grounds including the impressive Dodge Ram trucks, the redesigned Dodge Dakota trucks and Dodge Durango as well as the all new Dodge Magnum.
"We're extremely excited to continue our relationship with the New York Dodge Dealers Advertising Association" said both Raceway Park President Michael Napp and Vice President Alex Napp. We value this long lasting partnership with the Dodge dealers, which has proven over time to be a beneficial business relationship for both Raceway Park and the area Dodge dealers. Our goal will be to continue to provide Dodge with a return on its investment at Raceway Park through participation as the official vehicle sponsor."
Michael Napp went on to say, "It's very gratifying and exciting to see Dodge renew its involvement at Raceway Park at this level." Alex Napp emphasized, "Dodge has established a superior commitment to provide new, innovative forms of transportation by demonstrating an ability for engineering high quality products over the years. The name Dodge has been synonymous with winning, and we look forward to working with Dodge once again in 2005." Dodge has been involved in NHRA championship drag racing for more than 40 years in one form or another. At the present time the drag racing emphasis is on both the Pro and Sportsman eliminator racers as well as sport compact racing.
"We're excited about renewing the Dodge sponsorship with Raceway Park", stated Remsen Straub of the Dodge dealers association. "We've had great success in marketing our Dodge products to the Raceway Park market in the past and look forward to generating even more brand awareness this coming season."
Like Raceway Park, Dodge believes people still want cars and trucks that are good looking, well built, and exciting to drive. As the official vehicle of Raceway Park, Dodge provides support vehicles for administrative and track personnel. 2005 Dodge Ram Quad Cab
The 2005 Dodge Ram Quad Cab features innovative designs that take comfort and convenience to a new level in the full-size pickup segment with a larger-than-the competition interior and excellent head, shoulder, leg and hip room.
The Dodge Ram Quad Cab models boast four standard doors and 60/40 folding rear seats that ensure both passengers and gear fit in the back at the same time. By allowing the seats to fold up, tools and other items may be securely locked away on a job site.
The innovative Dodge Ram Quad Cab strikes a balance between interior functionality and exterior capability, featuring four conventional doors and a larger, more comfortable cab. However, it remains essentially the same length as the previous-generation Ram model, making it easy to maneuver and pull in and out of the garage. This was accomplished by taking three inches out of the bed length (from six foot six inches to six foot three inches) and adding it to the rear of the cab, creating a larger rear seating area with improved leg and hip room, and maintaining payload capacity. To enhance comfort and convenience, Dodge Ram Quad Cab's four doors are front-hinged, all with inside and outside handles, to improve entry and exit. Rear doors open 85 degrees and the windows move all the way down.
In addition to increased seating room and comfort, Ram Quad Cab features a host of storage compartments and conveniences. Rear seats feature an optional 60/40 spit to accommodate passengers and cargo together. Seat cushions fold up to create a tall storage area from floor to ceiling. An optional steel section under the back seats folds open and forms a flat load floor, with ample additional storage in the footwells. The Dodge Ram Quad Cab features numerous front seat storage areas and convenience features. The 40/20/40 front seat provides for comfortable seating for three or ample center storage for one or two occupants. The popular center "business console" offers room for a laptop computer and features fold-down storage dividers. The center "20" portion of the seat offers additional "hidden" storage under the cushion.
Equipped with two power points located in the instrument panel and another in the center storage console (on SLT and Laramie models), an available dual-zone climate control system, Dodge Ram combines comfort with the versatility of a "go anywhere" rolling office that can haul, tow and venture off-road. On four-wheel drive Laramie models, an electronic shift transfer case is standard and features an instrument panel-mounted control. Heated leather seats are available on the Laramie model.
2005 Dodge Durango SLT 4x4
For 2005, Dodge Durango SLT 4x4 debuts heated cloth seats-an industry first for SUVs, and an available full-screen navigation system.
The 2005 Dodge Durango SLT 4x4 has the interior room, towing and hauling capability of a large sport-utility vehicle (SUV), yet provides the fuel efficiency, performance and handling of smaller full-size SUVs. With its third-row seat folded and middle row up, the most common configuration of three-row seat SUVs-the Dodge Durango has more cargo room than Chevrolet Tahoe, Ford Expedition and Toyota Sequoia. The SLT also features available unique two-tone leather interiors and available navigation radio.
For 2005, Dodge Durango offers a standard 210 horsepower (157kW) 3.7-liter V-6 and the award-winning 5.7 liter HEMI Magnum V-8 as an optional powertrain. The 4.7-liter Magnum V-8 returns to round out an impressive powertrain lineup. New for 2005 is EMCC (electronically modulated clutch control) on the 5.7-liter HEMI Magnum. With 335 horsepower (257 kW) at 5200 rpm and 370 lb.-ft. of torque (509N.m) at 4200 rpm, Dodge Durango has ample power for towing and hauling.
The 2005 Dodge Durango is also available with the 230 horsepower (175kW) at 4600 rpm, 4.7-liter Magnum V-8 engine. The 4.7-liter Magnum is standard on four-wheel drive Dodge Durangos. With 290 lb.-ft. of torque (393N.m) at 3700 rpm, the 4.7-liter provides smooth and responsive performance and is mated to the 5-speed automatic transmission, the only transmission in its class with the reverse gear ratio equal to the low gear ratio. The 5-speed also features a unique alternate second gear ratio for use in difficult towing and grade climbing situation. New for 2005 are exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and knock sensors for improved fuel efficiency on the 4.7-liter Magnum V-8. The 4.7-liter Magnum V-8 is available with optional all-wheel drive (NV244 transfer case), which provides traction and handling benefits with 45/55 torque split front and rear.
Dodge Durangos with either the 4.7-liter Magnum or the 5.7-liter HEMI Magnum offer a "Tow/Haul" transmission feature that provides crisper shifts and reduces gear searching when towing by holding the lower gear longer. The system will also select a lower gear under downhill conditions to utilize the engine's braking capability. The Dodge Durango standard powertrain is the 3.7-liter Magnum V-6 that develops 210 horsepower (157kW) at 5200 rpm and 235 lb.-ft. of torque (319N.m) at 4000 rpm.
2005 Dodge Dakota
Bigger, bolder and tougher, the all-new 2005 Dodge Dakota stands alone. The Dodge Dakota has been completely redesigned for 2005 as the largest midsize pickup in its class and the only one available with a V-8 engine, Chrysler boasts.
The Dakota, which invented the midsize pickup class, is bigger than before-3.7 inches longer and 2.7 inches wider-for a roomier interior. It also features bolder, tougher styling. To match its tougher look, the Dakota now comes with two V-8 offerings: the 4.7 liter V-8 Magnum, at 230 horsepower and 290 lbs.-ft. of torque; and the new 4.7 liter High Output Magnum V-8, rated at 250-plus horsepower and 300-plus lb.-ft. of torque. Both V-8 engines are rated between three and four percent more fuel-efficient than the previous Dodge Dakota V-8 engines. With what Chrysler Group claims is the best-in-class torque, horsepower and towing, the 2005 Dodge Dakota delivers full size pickup styling, feel and power with the only V-8 in the class. Its towing capacity is 7000 pounds.
The Dakota comes as the Club Cab, which is the standard cab offering with forward-facing rear seats and new standard rear-hinged access doors. It also comes as a Quad Cab, with available six-passenger seating. The Dodge Dakota Club Cab features a 6-foot, 6-inch bed and the Dakota Quad Cab features a 5-foot, 4-inch bed. The 2005 Dodge Dakota also becomes the first midsize pickup to offer heated cloth seats.
2005 Dodge Caravan
The 2005 Dodge Caravan is available with power everything: available integrated child seats fold away, perfect for the growing family, available Quad Command bucket seats, available Stow 'n Go seating allows you to fold all rear seats into the floor and get 165.6 cu. ft. of cargo space on Grand Caravan.
Just because you've got a lot to do, doesn't mean you can't be comfortable while you're doing it. From picking up the kids at hockey practice, to a trip to the home improvement store to pick up supplies, the interior of the 2005 Dodge Caravan is designed to make every task as convenient and comfortable as possible.
With its stiff unibody design, Caravan minimizes the transmission of bumps, noise and vibrations with extraordinary effectiveness. Thanks to special liquid filled engine mounts and the ultra light Quiet Steel material used in the floor and roof, aggravating frequencies are minimized. And particular parts attached to the chassis are actually designed to resonate at certain frequencies to offset ones caused by everyday driving. Even the tires are carefully selected for lower noise.
Caravan is available with power everything. Check it out. There's an available power moon roof, power doors and lift gate (on Grand Caravan), power heated mirrors, power adjustable pedals, power windows and locks. Stay informed and in control with Caravan's available overhead console with trip computer. It can display heading and outside temperature.
