LOCAL ROCKERS CHEVELLE HEADLINE MILLER LITE “ROCK `N RACING” CONCERT AT CHICAGOLAND SPEEDWAY

July 01, 2005 - Chicago-based rock band, Chevelle –with special guest David Draiman of Disturbed – will perform a Miller Lite “Rock `n Racing” concert on Fri., July 10, at Chicagoland Speedway’s Expo Village at 5 p.m. Local H, another local favorite, will kick things off and energize the crowd before Chevelle takes the stage. Large crowds are expected for NASCAR Pole Day and the concert, so guests are encouraged to arrive early.

The concert is free with the purchase of a NASCAR Pole Day ticket for $15 (children 12 and under are free). Fans can purchase tickets by calling 815-727-7223 or by visiting www.ticketmaster.com.

"We are very excited to host another free concert at the Miller Lite Oasis in our newly remodeled Expo Village on NASCAR Pole Day," said Bob Welch, Senior Director of Marketing and Sales for Chicagoland Speedway & Route 66 Raceway. "This year, the concert will feature some local bands, Chevelle with David Draiman of Disturbed and Local H, who will add to the excitement surrounding NASCAR weekend at the Chicagoland Speedway. This is a great opportunity for our fans to check out some tremendous local talent.”

Formed in 1995, Chevelle's members are brothers Sam (drums), Pete (vocals, guitar) and Joe (bass) Loeffler. In October of 2002, the band released their second album “Wonder What's Next.” In June, the album went platinum and their second single "Send the Pain Below" was a number one hit at modern rock and mainstream radio. On September of 2004, Chevelle released “This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In)” that includes such hits like “Vitamin R” and “The Clincher.”

Local H, headed up by Scott Lucas (vocals/guitar) and Joe Daniels (drums) who are both natives of Zion, Ill., made their recording debut on 1995's “Ham Fisted.” In 1996, the band released its second album “As Good As Dead,” which included popular radio singles like "Bound for the Floor" and "Eddie Vedder.” “As Good As Dead” was eventually certified gold.
