"This year, the concert will feature some local bands, Chevelle with David Draiman of Disturbed and Local H, who will add to the excitement surrounding NASCAR weekend at the Chicagoland Speedway. This is a great opportunity for our fans to check out some tremendous local talent.”
Formed in 1995, Chevelle's members are brothers Sam (drums), Pete (vocals, guitar) and Joe (bass) Loeffler. In October of 2002, the band released their second album “Wonder What's Next.” In June, the album went platinum and their second single "Send the Pain Below" was a number one hit at modern rock and mainstream radio. On September of 2004, Chevelle released “This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In)” that includes such hits like “Vitamin R” and “The Clincher.”
Local H, headed up by Scott Lucas (vocals/guitar) and Joe Daniels (drums) who are both natives of Zion, Ill., made their recording debut on 1995's “Ham Fisted.” In 1996, the band released its second album “As Good As Dead,” which included popular radio singles like "Bound for the Floor" and "Eddie Vedder.” “As Good As Dead” was eventually certified gold.
