35th ANNIVERSARY BARRETT-JACKSON
EVENT TO OFFER LARGEST COLLECTION OF CORVETTES EVER ASSEMBLED
Nearly 100 Corvettes to Cross
Auction Block During January 2006 Event
The Barrett-Jackson Auction
Company has assembled the most comprehensive collection of
Corvettes to be offered at a major auction all at no reserve
during the 2006 Worlds Greatest Collector Car Event
in Scottsdale. Barrett-Jackson will auction approximately 100 of
the rarest Corvettes during the 35th anniversary celebration
event on January 14 22, 2006, at WestWorld.
It is hard to find a better
selection of Americas Sports Car than at
Americas collector car auction this year, said Craig
Jackson, president of The Barrett-Jackson Auction Company. Were
proud to celebrate our 35th anniversary with an unprecedented
selection of no reserve Corvettes that symbolize this countrys
automotive heritage. The collection ranges from the affordable,
as represented by a 1977 T-Top Coupe, to the most desirable, like
the 1969 L-88 Coupe and 1963 Z06.
Perhaps the most coveted of the
Corvettes available this year is the ultra-rare 1953 #003
convertible. With the destruction of the first two production
units years ago, #003 remains the worlds oldest and one of
the most valuable Corvette. A winner of multiple awards including
NCRS Duntov, Gold Spinner and Triple Crown titles, this beauty
will arrive from an 18-month stint at the National Corvette
Also available will be an NCRS Top
Flight and show award winning, completely original 1969 L-88
Coupe. The numbers matching Corvette is one of only 116
manufactured, features only 2,540 actual miles and is among the
top 1969 L-88s in condition, restoration and provenance.
The numbers matching, original
owner 1963 Z06 Coupe is a fuel-injected stunner that was
originally purchased as a racecar. One of only 199 Z06's built
this rolling piece of art was restored in 1980 using original
parts. It has won many awards including the NCRS Top Flight, NCRS
Duntov award and Performance Verification awards and was chosen
for the NCS "Field of Dreams" twice.
Other Corvettes featured include a
1957 Corvette LT1 restomod, two 1957 Fuel-injected convertibles,
a 1963 custom split-window coupe and the largest selection of 427/435
convertibles ever assembled. All will be offered for sale at no
Some of the best Corvettes
weve ever seen crossed the block in Scottsdale and Palm
Beach last year, added Jackson. We hope to exceed
that excitement and level of American performance for our 35th
anniversary. This will be the opportunity of a lifetime for
anyone who loves classic Corvettes.
